What We Offer

We welcome small groups by arrangement for hosted lunch/tea or supper around the campfire, including walks and talks. We can arrange specialised days according to your group interest.

River Fishing

Private use of the river including daily use of camp kitchen and rowing boat.

Personal Environment Agency Fishing License Required.

We are able to provide expert coaching for beginners, and one to one lessons by arrangement.

Bird Watching

For groups or individuals by arrangement. Excellent place for photography.

Woodland Camping

Exclusive use of the woodland for your group, including kayaks, rowing boat. drinking water, firewood and compost lavatories. Basic back to nature, but with a fully equipped camp kitchen to hand.

Hosted Activities

We can arrange all sorts of different days for your group. Storytelling,

Woodland Crafts…spoon carving, simple furniture making, and are happy to host any of your own ideas or needs.

A perfect place for Music Workshops and Drumming.

and includes a fascinating insight to life as it would have been in this woodland hundreds of years ago, using roots, berries, bark and other plant material growing here to colour locally produced sheep fleece. Woodland Theatre

The Little Theatre

The Little Theatre in the Woods is constructed entirely from timber derived from our woodland management work and built by our friends at www.treesculpture.co.uk based in Suffolk, collectively known as “The Hearts of Oak”

They are a group of artisans who produce an array of unusual and imaginative pieces ranging from huge sculptural carvings hewn from whole tree trunks and smaller sculptures for all environs, to exquisite pieces of furniture, each one unique and individually designed.

The Little Theatre is available for drama groups and all they entail. Writing for plays, costume, lighting, sound, Performance in a secluded and intimate surrounding, with seating for 60 people. An exclusive venue to host private events, or fund raising events for your own charity or organisation.

Material Supply

As a working farm woodland, we produce coppice products and animal habitat boxes.

History

It is a fascinating site and recently revealed the existence of a Neolithic flint works in the place of the old marl pit, which itself fell into disuse around a hundred years ago.

Conservation Volunteer Days

Our Volunteer days are popular and include refreshments throughout the day. The campfire is burning if you wish to barbeque, and the kettle is always on.
