Junior Tree Wardens Group at Wrongs Covert
May 2019
On Saturday 25th May we held the first meeting of the Wrongs Covert Junior Tree Wardens Group (JTW’s).
For this meeting we were joined by the Freethorpe and Brundall JTW’s who have been established for 3 years and gave our own members an insight into what they will learn as JTW’s.
John Fleetwood, the chairman of The Tree Wardens Network brought the Freethorpe group and started the meeting with an introduction to the purpose of Tree Wardens and recounted some of the activities and visits they went on recently.
We look forward to welcoming more members to our own group which is open to young people from 8 to 13 yrs old and later on we will be combining the meetings with working towards the John Muir Trust Award in Conservation.
We will meet on one Saturday each month, and occasionally invite guest group leaders to increase the JTW’s knowledge in many different aspects of tree care and woodland management.
We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in coming along.
